75' Burger Yacht Hull Refit

Full structural and cosmetic hull restoration

75' Burger Yacht Hull Refit

Project Overview

A complete structural and cosmetic hull refit on a 75-foot Burger motor yacht. This was not a patch job — extensive aluminum hull plating was replaced, structural frames were reinforced, and the hull was returned to better-than-original condition.

The Challenge

Decades of saltwater service had caused corrosion in critical hull areas below the waterline. The yacht needed to maintain its structural integrity during the refit while sections of hull plate were removed and replaced. Sequencing the work was as important as the welding itself.

The Solution

DolFab developed a phased plating replacement plan — removing and replacing hull sections one at a time while maintaining structural support with temporary shoring. New marine-grade aluminum plate was cut, formed, and welded in place with full-penetration welds. All replaced areas were ultrasound-tested for weld integrity. The hull was faired and prepped for paint — ready for another 30 years of service.
