Heavy-duty passenger benches for charter vessel
Project Overview
Custom aluminum passenger benches fabricated for the Venture charter vessel. Commercial charter boats need seating that can handle hundreds of passengers per week, salt spray, and sun — and still look good for the next group boarding.
The Challenge
Charter vessel seating takes extreme abuse — constant passenger traffic, saltwater exposure, UV degradation, and Coast Guard safety inspections. The benches had to be strong enough to pass USCG stability calculations, light enough to not affect vessel trim, and durable enough for years of commercial service.
The Solution
DolFab fabricated the benches from marine-grade aluminum with welded gussets and reinforced mounting points. All welds were continuous (no skip welds) for maximum strength and to eliminate crevices where salt could accumulate. Seat surfaces were textured for grip. The benches bolt to the deck through backing plates for easy removal during annual survey. Three years of commercial service — zero failures.
